If you see a person who has a bucket of paint thrown over them, what is the first thing you will notice about him? Will you notice his face, his clothes or any other detail about him first? Or will the first thing you will notice is that this person is drenched in paint?
“The colouring of Allah! And who is better in colouring than Allah? And we are to worship none but Him.” [Al Baqara: 138]
Allah has used the word color for His religion. Like a person drenched in paint, we should be drenched in submission to Him. Totally covered in His colors.
So much so that when an on looker looks at us, the first thing they notice about us is our link with Allah.
Like the paint will cover the coloring of clothing, our submission to our Rabb should cover our own personalities. So anything of of our own personality is tinted with this love of Allah. Our likes and dislikes become secondary in preference.
Our submission to our Lord and Master should be visible in everything. From the way we dress, walk and talk to the way we deal with others. It should be visible everywhere we go. From masajids to markets, from homes to social media. From the way we love our spouses to the way we lower our gaze in front of anyone else. From the way we step over ants to the way we fight in the path of Allah!
And whose color is better than the color of Allah?
